How a build works

From first walk-through to final cleanup.

  1. 1

    Walk the property

We meet you on site, listen to how you want to use the space, and take measurements. Free, with no pressure to book.

  2. 2

    Plan & quote

You get a clear written quote with the layout, materials, and scope spelled out, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

  3. 3

    Build it right

Proper excavation, a compacted base, and level lines. The parts you never see are what make a patio or wall last.

  4. 4

    Walk-through & cleanup

We walk the finished project with you and haul away the debris, so all that’s left is the finished work.

Wraparound seat walls & rock beds

What we built
Curved block walls that wrap the front beds, filled with decorative rock and finished with shrub plantings.
Why it works
The raised walls give the house a clean, finished edge from the street, and rock beds stay neat with far less upkeep than mulch.

Unilock paver patio with border inlay

What we built
A side-yard patio in Unilock brick pavers, laid in two tones with a nested border pattern on a compacted base.
Why it works
It turns a narrow, unused strip beside the house into a real sitting area, and the inlay makes a small patio feel custom.
Stone pillars with a sheer waterfall into a pool
Water feature

Poolside stone waterfall

What we built
Stone pillars with a sheer waterfall spilling into the pool, capped to sit cleanly against the deck.
Why it works
Moving water adds sound and a focal point, and it makes the whole pool area feel finished.

Curb appeal

Raised planter walls

What we built
Curved raised planter beds in a front yard, with capped block walls and fresh plantings.
Why it works
Raised beds add height and structure to a flat lawn, and the curves soften the lines of the house.

Good questions

Before you build.

Have a question about your project? Call or text 815·212·4526.

How much does a patio or retaining wall cost?

Every yard is different. Size, access, base prep, and materials all change the price. After a free on-site visit, you get a clear written quote so there are no surprises.

When is the best time to build?

We build hardscapes from spring through fall. Winter is the best time to plan, so your project is designed, quoted, and on the calendar when the season opens.

Can you match my house or existing patio?

Usually, yes. We’ll look at your home’s brick, siding, and any existing hardscape on the walk-through and suggest pavers and wall block that fit.

Do you do the planting and cleanup too?

Yes. We can finish the project with plantings, rock or mulch beds, and sod, and we haul away all debris. See our full list of services.
